Autumn Equinox

A temp scaffolding balcony

More timber framing today and we now have half of it up! Many hands x

As the scaffolding has creates a platform (balcony!) outside of our bedroom window, we are utilising the opportunity to remove and refurb the victorian sash window before the cold weather really sets in. Being able to step out onto the scaffolding for a while to enjoy the view from up here is an added bonus.

Finally after virus set backs, I have started the compost. The bays need more height but composting REALLY needed to start! I have been picking up tips from Steve Jones at Treflach Farm who is experimenting making compost for a compost tea and have bought new shears to chop up the dried out nettles and bramble to make the most of everything in the garden. Except the Laurel that is…that poisonous evil can sod right off!

We had absolutely glorious weather here at Tanyfron today. A perfect autumn equinox. Very chilly when cloudy and almost too hot when the sun came out…a beautiful balance between the seasons and a joy to be outside experiencing.

The work we have done today, that will benefit not just us, but other and future co-op members, feels very fulfilling. amd while I sit and listen to the late afternoon birdsong, I am very grateful for all the co-op members before me and they work they have done that means I am here now, enjoying this day.
